General questions around QSEC®

  • Does QSEC® have the possibility to add further documents (for example PDF)?

    In the QSEC® document module all current document formats (.doc, .docx, .xml, .xmlx, .ppt, .pptx, .pdf etc.) can be uploaded and saved.

  • Does QSEC® provide extensibility/plugins?

    In the QSEC® system customer-specific extensibilities can be carried out. The extensibilities (data fields, checklists etc.) can be established individual in modules, measures, business processes, information, asset groups, documents and security incidents. The extensibilities can be carried out from the customer (requirement: administration tool is installed) or from the WMC GmbH specialists. Plugins can’t be implemented by the customer.

  • Does the company provide continual support for QSEC®?

    Yes, as QSEC® customer the authorized QSEC® responsible can capture your support request in the contact form and send them to the QSEC® specialists. For technical questions and problems you can reach us per E-Mail: or telephone: +49 40 650 33 6-28.

  • Does QSEC® support the BSI baseline security catalogues?

    Yes, QSEC® supports the IT-baseline of the federal agency for security in the information technique (BSI). In QSEC® are the modules and measures integrated. The features of the IT baseline security is considered in the QSEC®BSI.

  • Does the ISMS support the work according to ISO-27K?

    The QSEC® system is a multi-norm solution. In addition to the ISO / IEC 27k series, the requirements of the standards – such as those of quality management (9001) or environmental management (14001) – can also be methodically managed.

  • How can I edit my resubmission?

    The QSEC® system has included diverse resubmission for the user. The resubmission categories are: complance, measures, risk, security incidents, business continuity, documents.

    The resubmission base on the resubmission date and is in the traffic lights red, yellow, green and white (for long forward planned) signed. The resubmission date is installed manually by the user or from the system through assessments.

  • Which modules are available in QSEC®?

    In QSEC® the requirements to a GRC management system is realized in the modules: master data (organization, scopes, employees, roles etc.), compliance (norms, laws, guidelines etc.), information assets (business processes, information, asset groups), risk (by ISO/IEC 27005), security incidents (assignment to asset groups and risks), BIA/BCM (business impact analyze, gap analyze, emergency plan etc.), documents and administration.

  • What can be evaluated with QSEC®?

    With the QSEC® system requirements to a GRC management can be evaluated. It is mainly depicted the information security management (ISMS), the integration in the work security, the quality management and the environmental management.


QSEC® compatibility

  • Is QSEC® compatible with CMDB?

    Yes, QSEC® is compatible with Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

  • Is QSEC® compatible with ITIL?

    In QSEC® the standards of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) can be assessed. We don’t speak about compatibility but about an assessment if the IT service organization works ITIL conform. Therefore the ISO 20000 norm is integrated in QSEC®.

  • Does an online-demo or a video exist, which gives a detailed picture about the usability of the QSEC® software?

    You can convince yourself of the effectiveness of our software solution QSEC® in a noncommittal web demo. Therefore you have to register yourself with the wished date in this contact form.
    Afterwards we provide you the entry to our demo system, where you can test QSEC®. After a successful web presentation we unlock you a demo account, which is according to your usage circa 3 months active and can be extended as required.

QSEC® installation and settings

  • Does QSEC® provide a monitoring support like NAGIOS?

    QSEC® is an ISMS management system which has a dashboard and the report function. An interface to read in Nagios data is provided by individual adaption. The data can be linked with existing asset groups in QSEC®.

  • Does QSEC® use an open database (for example: MYSQL, MONGODB etc.)?

    The QSEC® system fits to the customer owned database (MS SQL Server oder MS SQL EasyExpress). An installation on other databases is not provided.

  • How do I install the QSEC® software?

    Before the installation of QSEC® the installation of WMC GmbH is prepared. Therefore the provider server, the system software (Windows 2008/2012 R2) and the MS SQL database has to be determined. The implementation files can be downloaded and implemented by a VPN connection/a team viewer. An installation by WMC employees is also possible on site.

    Because QSEC® is a web application the QSEC® suite is controlled by a browser of the user (IE, Chrome etc.). A further installation on the terminal is not necessary.

  • Why is there no national flags on the ribbon toolbar for changing the language?

    In QSEC® system is the local language installed in the employee master data. A change of the language is not provided in the ribbon toolbar.

  • How can I change the display language?

    In QSEC® there are two display languages implemented: German and English. You can change or set the display language in the basic mode by selecting the tile “employees”.

  • How can I search in QSEC®?

    In the user modus of QSEC® a search function exists. The invocation follows over the tile QSEC® Suchfunktion

    Within the search function you can search with keywords through all or singular chosen QSEC® modules. In the shown result the wished attribute can be called up directly.

  • How can I respond to notifications?

    To notifications, which are delivered summarized per mail, you can’t respond. In notifications all upcoming measures and tasks are clearly depicted by the QSEC® system and remind the user about resubmission and tasks.

  • How can I work in different scopes?

    The QSEC® system is organized in scopes. The scopes are implemented by the QSEC® responsible and can be selected from the authorized user in the QSEC® homepage.

  • How can I switch between the user and the expert mode?

    In QSEC® you can switch between the user and the expert mode on the base through quotation of the whished mode. The selection or the mode switch has to take place under the user name.

  • Why are not all modules displayed?

    The QSEC® system has an authorization concept. Beside the user typ and the assignment to business units, the authorization to the modules and functions is controlled by the user role.  Changes of the user authorization can be realized by the QSEC® responsible.

  • Which other license models do you provide?

    On demand further license models (lease, cloud etc.).

  • Which is the difference between single license and complete license?

    QSEC® has available a flexible license model, which is depends on diverse parameter.
    Our QSEC® license model provides single licenses, where you can grow with the produced as required, as well as complete licenses with unlimited possible uses. Both license models we provide alternatively on the basis of license transfer, software care or leasing including software care with different duration options.

  • How can I see which rights I have?

    In QSEC® you can see the rights you have just in the usage. An overview about your QSEC® rights is implemented by the QSEC® responsible and can be displayed with the report “qsr0025”. The access to this report usually just the QSEC® responsible has.
